You were made to serve God and to serve others in His family. God has a ministry He wants you to enjoy. Many opportunities await you in serving Jesus through the volunteer ministries of Evangel Church. We encourage you to

1. Pray for God's leading
2. Prepare yourself spiritually to minister to others
3. Contact the appropriate person about your interest and to join you in prayer
4. Fill out an application for ministry with two references
5. Fill out an approval statement for a background check if applicable
6. Be a member of Evangel Church or in the process of pursuing membership

 At Evangel we believe that ministry is using whatever God has given us to serve Him and the needs of others.  We minister in 3 directions: to the Lord, to believers and to non-believers.  The goal of our ministry is to help others grow.

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith. Ephesians 4:11-13

We seek to achieve this goal by fulfilling the 5 urposes of the church to communicate God's work, care for God's family, celebrate God's presence, educate God's people and demonstrate God's love.

Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experiences.

SPIRITUAL GIFT.  God gave you a special ability called a Spiritual Gift when you began following Him.  He gave you this gift to help build up your church family and reach out to the world with Christ's love.

HEART.  God gave you a unique passion for particular activities, subjects and circumstances.  He gave you a Heart for the things you feel deeply about to help define how and where He wants you to serve Him.

ABILITIES.  You have Abilities, given to you before you accepted Christ, that God can use in specific ways to assist you in your ministry. 

PERSONALITY.  God needs a Personality in ministry that's exactly like yours!  He wants to use you whether you're an extrovert or an introvert; whether you enjoy routine or activity.

EXPERIENCES.  God has placed a multitude of Experiences in your life to help mold you for ministry.  He can use the experiences in your background to help heal the hurts of others in your church and your community.

PASTORAL RESOURCE

Help the Pastoral Team by managing, organizing and completing a wide variety of projects related to our pastors and their ministries.  Opportunities include: book summaries, transcriptions and sermon editing.

RESEARCH TEAM

Identify and locate relevant articles in newspapers, periodicals and on the internet to assist the Pastors.  Time commitment is up to each individual's schedule.  Most research can be done from home.

OFFICE ASSISTANTS

Working in administrative roles, volunteer office assistants help meet the needs of our support staff by using the talent God has given them.
