Ask The Pastor

Q.
There is a kid in my grade who is always throwing hard questions at me about God. (He doesn't believe there is a God.) I have prayed for him but nothing has happened. Also I see so much potential in his life if he would just start living for God. What do I do?
A. That's awesome that you have someone pursuing more info about God! Welcome the tough questions, but don't be afraid to tell them, "I don't know that one, but let me find out for both of us!" Obviously, your connection with this person is a good one because the respect he has for you as a person who believes in God! I am proud of you! This will stretch your effort - pursue good answers for people that are searching. I believe the person pounding you with hard questions is obviously searching for answers as they trying to figure God out. Tell him you see his potential and that if he gives God a chance, God will prove Himself to him, plus, as he finds the realness of God, God will use him to make a great impact. Keep the open relationship and keep receiving his questions. Search for the answers in the Bible and among people you spiritually respect at church. Keep praying for him. He can be a great answer person for someone else someday when he finds God!
