Whenever I am lost, I must confess, it is hard to sometimes admit it to my wife. I find it difficult to pull over and ask for directions. I unfortunately think, "Oh, I can find it on my own." I typically end up wasting a lot of valuable time. Once I understand that I need some help, a few simple steps get me going in the right path!

You may have doubts about God. You may be angry with God. You may be desperate for God. You may be confused by God. You may have questions for God. You may even really want to love God. Start talking! Talk to God whether your volume level is really soft or even if the decibel level is a rather higher than normal you've got to start somewhere. Start talking to God like you would have a conversation with anyone. It's the start of your road trip with the One who knows the journey the best!

Even if the response is "I'm lost! I have no idea!" it's OK. You may find yourself somewhere you've never been before. You may even recognize the familiar settings of your life circumstances as if you've been there before but you still need help finding your way. Be encouraged. Everyone has been there, that street address of not knowing how to find the way .home! But understanding that you are lost, well, it's the beginning to finding your bearings.

Feel free to ask God for help! He wants to help! Jesus wants you to find your way more than you know. You don't have go real fast or try to memorize the whole journey all at once. Take one step at a time.

God's word, the Bible, is a great road map. Read a little of the map every day. I encourage you to start with the book of Mark and read about the stories of Jesus. Then, read the book of John. These are great stories to help you get started in your journey. You will find that having a relationship with God is as simple as ABC.
- Accept God's gift of grace and ask Jesus to come into your life and to forgive you of your failures and sin.
- Believe that Jesus really is the Son of God and that God forgives you.
- Confess that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead as your Savior.

When you have someone with you who has been on the journey before, "Wow!", does it make the trip a whole lot easier. Connect with a good, healthy, Bible believing church. Ask another mature Christian to work with you on your journey with God. Be a part of a Bible study and start growing in your knowledge of the road map. If you are near Evangel Church come join us and we will take this ride together!

There is nothing like taking a trip and having fun on the way! God has incredible things for you to experience. You're going to make it! Jesus will help you.
Here's a simply prayer that you can pray to invite Jesus into your life. Feel free to read it and make it your own personal prayer.
"Jesus, I need you. Please come into my life. I accept your gift of grace and forgiveness for my failures and sin. I confess that I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness. I believe that you, Jesus, are the Son of God. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and God raised you from the dead to save me and give me a future home in Heaven. Thank you, God, for your forgiveness. Jesus, thank you for taking my place on the cross. Holy Spirit, come into my life and fill me with your presence to guide me. Help me grow strong and healthy in my journey with God. I love you, Jesus. Amen."
You have just made the greatest decision of your life. You are a part of God's family! What a great choice! Congratulations!
